Let's Bitch

I just read a statistic that 70% of companies will serve alcohol at their Christmas parties this year. Why does mine have to be in that other 30%? What is the incentive to go now? At least during office hours I am getting paid to be around these people, plaster a fake smile on my face, and occasionally engage in a polite conversation or two. But once it hits 5 o’clock and I’m off the payroll, there has to be some sort of motivation to socialize with the co-workers and continue putting on this act. You want me to dress up in my holiday best and do this for FREE? I already give you 9 hours of every Monday thru Friday…now you want my Friday night too????? At least give me a damn beer! Maybe a rum and coke? Isn’t eggnog alcoholic? Maybe I will offer to drink my Coors from a glass with their logo on it…support the company and my sanity at the same time.
